I truly look forward when receiving Neurology to read the Reflections entries, finding them thought provoking and an extension of our humaness. I wish I could say the same about the poem by Dr. Burton, [1] which I found insulting, condescending, and inappropriate. A scientific journal is not the place for political bias, partisan quarrels, or scornful disrespect, particularly in a section on the humanities in a journal that is not just limited to readers of one political affiliation. Maybe Dr. Burton should be listening to all the shelved brains he sees, not just a selected few that share his limited, nondiverse views. Hopefully future entries will be better reviewed prior to publication.
