Autopsy revealed rupture of a major branch of the right middle cerebral artery in the Sylvian fissure, secondary to invasive astrocytoma. This is the first reported case, to our knowledge, of a grade I1 astrocytoma presenting as a subarachnoid hemorrhage, secondary to rupture of branches of the middle cerebral artery.
